Parts of the ceremony that are typically accompanied by music.
Prelude: This is the music your guests will enjoy as they arrive and wait for the ceremony to begin. Prelude is typically around 15-30 minutes.
Seating of the Family: This music will accompany close family members who you wish to have a special entrance. Typically, this includes parents and grandparents. If you have only a few family members who you wish to be specially recognized or a small bridal party, you may want to combine Seating of the Family with the Bridal Party Processional to create a smoother transition.
Bridal Party Processional: This music will accompany members of your bridal party as they enter. The bridal party typically includes the officiant, groom, groomsmen, bridesmaids, flower girl and ringbearer.
Bridal Processional: The moment everyone has been waiting for! This is when the bride enters either accompanied by her father or alone. All eyes are on her!
Special Selection: Sometimes ceremonies include special moments such as a unity candle ceremony, sand ceremony or communion that can be accompanied by music. Keep in mind that if there is going to be talking throughout the entire ceremony music may not be needed.
Full Catholic Masses: If the wedding involves a full Catholic Mass (not the shorter 30min ceremony) music is used to accompany the preparation of the gifts, communion, and the presentation to the blessed mother. Other parts of the mass are typically sung by the priest acapella. Keep in mind that many Catholic churches have restrictions as to what type of music is allowed. You may wish to speak with your specific church to see what their rules are before choosing your song selections.
Recessional: The bride and groom have tied the knot! The bride and groom lead the way back down the isle followed by the bridal party and specially recognized family members.
Postlude: This music will be played while your guest leave and includes 5-10 minutes of upbeat songs that match the joyous mood of the occasion.
